in all seriousness, these dogs really need to stick around. i can see that hugh dancy's character's supposed to be read as a moe, the fragile little china tea cup prodigy. w/e. but the problem for me is that hugh dancy's screen presence doesn't lend itself to that? he's much more in his element playing assholes and upper class characters who revel on their social standing. (he only had that moe je ne sais quoi - probably due to youthfulness - as galahad. his role in martha marcy may marlene was much more of a fit for older him.)

basically: he's not inherently likable, imo.

but the dogs help.
