ballet blanc

odile is myrtha.

idk if the non-odette swans in swan lake are supposed to be rusalka enslaved by rothbart, but i have decided, bc i can, that they are.

so odile. she's only known men who are either awful like her dad or dumb as fuck like siegfried (and possibly other blokes into odette that her father made her dazzle). so once rothbart is kaput and all the swans are free, odile included, she decides to lead a section of the more vengeful swan-rusalkas and they branch out.

"we don't need to keep the water theme, girls!" so wilis.

and digression, but one of my biggest disappointments with classical ballet is that the part correspondent to once upon a dream in sleeping beauty is NOT a florimund/aurora pdd. i guess i should be disappointed in disney, not petipa (much less pyotr), but whatever.

and i know it's true that visions are seldom all they seem~
