vids like this make me realize i can't figure out if i find carl interesting bc of himself or bc of his association with peter doherty/peter doherty finds/found him interesting. (i'm leaning toward the later rn, tbh. was it the extremely pretty, a bit quirky and at some point suicidal thing for pete? bc i think it's it for me. but like. it wouldn't have been enough to get me chinhandy if instead of playing in ~da libz & being one half of the barat/doherty one act tragedy, he'd ended up playing in idk the futureheads. or the strokes, crossing the atlantic AU.)

i remember having this sorted in the early 2000s, so i was checking my old lj, but alas i remembered it wrong. i had it sorted that i really liked him (way more than peter, by the tail end of my libs fannishness), yea, but that's dif from finding someone interesting.

for instance, i like rafa and roger way more than novak djokovic, but novak djokovic is the more interesting dude. this example isn't good illustrating the "more interesting by association" thing, but i suppose it's like when ppl get more into watson-style companions/+1s than their sherlocks.
