Loved this review of Milagro.

Last week, I read Samson by Aloysia Virgata, the first X-Files fic I've read in over a decade. I lucked out, it's so my sort of stuff.
I have such a soft spot for Diana Fowley as a concept that I'm always game for explorations of her shared past with Mulder despite how wrong the show did by her (imo).
I love this line: "Your problem," she said to him, crossing her arms, "is that you have an incurable weakness for women."
It's true. It's part of the reason why Mulder's still so dear to me, one of my most beloved tv characters. He could be a total dickwad, I'll grant that, but he was the sort of man who liked women. Really liked them. Not in a lewd horn dog way, despite the fact he's a man-child, despite the porn obsession. David Duchovny played this angle so, so well. Even as a preteen watching the show, the way he seemed to gel better with women always tugged on my heart strings. The centerpieces of his life were women. There was an attempt to add a Big Man onto his life table with the CSM is his real daddy reveal, but even that still came across mostly as about Samantha and Teena for Mulder, I thought? Idk. I read him as a ladies man in the right way. Always have, always will.
It's another way Scully's his perfect opposite. Her life centerpieces turned out to be mostly men.
