Changing two answers in the previous post -
3. Your favorite book this year: Grendel
i finished it dec 31. chapter 5, where grendel goes to the dragon for meaning/answers and understands only about 10% of what the dragon's saying and is distressed by the rest = me reading the myth of sisyphus earlier this year. chapter 9 with the priests - existentialism/absurdism, right? violence and sex are distractions from the absurd! art is how we defy it!! that's the intentional gist, right?
w/e, doesn't matter, there's no comfort anywhere. i feel you, grendel.
11. Your biggest squee moment of the year: i'm a liar who lies. i can still squee.
