hanging out here because the ao final is kinda painful. particularly because between his age and the faster, lower bouncing new surface, chances are rafa won't be in as good a position to win a second ao again. (and i trust he knows it. and i also trust i'm not projecting when i say getting the second career slam was something he badly wanted for his legacy.)
he's lucky it's not djokovic in this final.
i got all emotionally invested in this tennis year out of the blue, against my better judgment, when novak lost and now i have to somehow desinvest myself. rafa's never had two good consecutive years is his career and this has more than a whiff of a shit one. i mean, a title + slam RUP = not shabby, but i've been stanning this dude for too long. i have stan instincts.
