Oct. 8th, 2012 11:12 pmmy mom's chemotherapy sessions started today and i found out that i'm actually one of the worst kind of companions for things like this. it requires sitting in a room for around two hours with 14 or so other ppl receiving treatment and their companions. my mother is a chatterbox, particularly when she's scared. i'm a bad conversationalist and in the odd times i hit my groove, it's usually about morbid stuff (I N A P P R O P R I A T E).
unfortunately for my mother, she lacks better options.
luckily for my mother, the other 14 or so ppl and their +1s at the clinic today were also feeling pretty chatty and made up for my shortcomings.
i also found out that reading to the lighthouse in a chatty environment is like reading alphabet soup. maybe it's because i'm ESL, but jfc.
my mom's fine, she thought it was like getting her nails done in a salon, what with all the gossiping. she's still down about her hair falling in 18 days, won't shave, but has purchased a cute wig anyways.
