actually, i was born in the regency room
Oct. 11th, 2014 06:09 amchristopher nolan's oeuvre has never been quite my bag, but having finally seen TDKR, i have to thank him for giving me the closest thing to a satisfying conclusion to a batman saga i've ever got and probably will ever get.
i mean, all i can see is that ending and how perfectly it fit to my very particular taste when it comes to the batman mythos.
bruce faking his death! making sure alfred knows he's alive and happy at last! with selina (who was GREAT in this movie, loved her, top marks, responsible for 90% of my enjoyment)! in florence! with clean slates! all of this in a world without an extended batfamily, where the guy the movie implies will take up the mantle is a grown up. AN EX-COP.
all i can say is yaaaass, TDKR's ending, yaaaass! you look so good! you look beautiful (*)!
speaking of beauty, that charity ball scene was beautifully shot and acted. A+.
(*) ...to me. i know batman fans wanted dick, jason, tim, barbara. but they have that in copious amounts in the comics. i have around 15 minutes of perfection in TDKR, that's it.
