young jane marple the tv show
Feb. 11th, 2012 03:27 pmso i have lots of money and am a super star tv producer, bow down. i'll make a mini-series happen and it will be about a young jane marple (tail end of the XIX century or beginning of the XX).
why?
- jane is as perceptive as all the famous male detectives, but her gender and the time forces her to apply her skills differently. it would be fresh!
- it's more socially acceptable for men and women of a certain age to be "eccentric", but jane, who is of a high social position, would have to handle her own eccentricity more carefully in her youth.
- she attended a finishing school. FANTASTIC SETTING FOR INTRIGUE!!
- i like nosy jane marple and i like to imagine what she would be like growing up. i also miss shirley holmes.
